April 10, 2011 : Paper 1 : 09.00 - 12.00 hrs.

Paper 1 and Paper 2 each will have separate sections in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Both papers will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

ADMISSION CATEGORIES
The applicant for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall be classified under any one of the following categories which will be decided and recommended by DRC/CRC.

(I) Full-time Research student/ Candidate
a) Research student/Candidate getting Institute MHRD assistantship.
b) Research student/Candidate including foreign nationals getting financial support from Govt. / Semi Govt. agencies (QIP, CSIR, UGC, DAE, DST, DBT, NBHM, JEST, ICCR, NDF, etc.)
c) Research student/Candidate including foreign nationals supported by a sponsoring organization, the applicant (Sponsored Research Student/ Candidate) having TWO years experience out of which at least ONE year experience with the sponsoring agency.

d) Self Financed Research student/ Candidate
—Indian: This category refers to persons with experience and with good track record to join the doctoral programme. They will be admitted along with the regular research students through the usual admission procedure.

—Foreign: Admission of Foreign nationals to Ph.D. programme will be made as per policy and direction of the Govt. of India from time to time

—Study Leave: This category refers to persons who are released from governmental or educational institutions on study leave for a period of not less than three years for pursuing Ph.D. programme. They will be admitted along with the regular research students through the usual admission procedure.

*e) Research student / Candidate regularly working full time in an R & D project at IITR. His Ph.D. topic is in confirmation to the project as certified by the SRC.

II) Part-time Research Student/ Candidate:

a) Research student/Candidate working as a regular employee in the Institute

*b) Research student / Candidate working regularly full-time in an R&D project in the institute. The project must have tenure of at least next 2 years. c) Research student / Candidate working in other organizations / institutes, approved by IIT Roorkee as Research Centre or having MoU for research purposes.

* The research student / candidate working in a project will be given full time status, provided his research for Ph.D. is related to the project as certified by the SRC. However, part time research student/candidate may be given full time status when the project tenure is completed.

ELIGIBILITY
An applicant belonging to the above admission categories should possess the following qualifications in appropriate areas to be eligible to apply for admission for the Ph.D. programme of the Institute.

Masters degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Urban & Rural Planning / Pharmacy / Computer Applications of 3 years duration after graduation in respective discipline or equivalent with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institute wherever letter grades are awarded; or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) where marks are awarded.
OR
Masters degree in Sciences/Humanities & Social Sciences/ Management in respective discipline or equivalent with a valid NET or valid GATE or valid GPAT score and minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institute where letter grades are awarded; or 60% marks where marks are awarded.
OR
B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree or equivalent in respective discipline with excellent academic record (with a minimum CGPA of 7.0 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 70% marks) and in possession of a valid GATE score.

The admission eligibility requirements may be relaxed to 5.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, or to 55% marks to the following categories:
a. SC/ST candidates with Master's degree.
b. Any category of PD (Persons with disabilities) Candidate holding B.Tech. degree or equivalent degree.
c. Academic staff of the Institute who has an experience of more than 5 years.

3. Eligibility for Part-time Ph.D.
a) The applicant possesses the minimum entry qualifications for the degree as given in admission eligibility point 1;
b) The applicant proves that his official duties permit him to devote sufficient time to research;
c) He / She will be required to reside at the Institute for a period of not less than 6 months during his/her registration for the degree. (This condition of minimum residence period will be automatically waived for candidates who are working in Roorkee or in Organizations / institutions located within a distance of 100 km from the Institute).
d) The facility of part time registration will also be available to all employees of the IIT Roorkee or candidates working in organizations having MoU with IITR or organizations approved by IIT Roorkee as Research Centres. Such applicants are exempted from the requirement of having valid GATE/NET/GPAT.
e) The applicants must have been in continuous service with the sponsoring organization for at least two years at the time of submitting the application form for admission.
f) The candidates working in Institute/University awarding Ph.D. degree itself are not eligible for admission as part-time candidate.

Employee seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme with minimum of two years service in an organization or confirmed regular employee may obtain and submit 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer to the effect that the duties allotted by the employer will allow the required time for this pursuit.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech (Research) Programme:
The minimum qualification required for admission to M.Tech (Research) programme in Engineering, Science, Management, Humanities & Social Science is one of the following:

a) B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm/MCA or equivalent in relevant discipline with 60 percent marks in aggregate (or 6.5 CGPA).

b) M.Sc. in Basic Sciences with 60 percent marks in aggregate (or 6.5 CGPA) in relevant disciplines.

Applicants Awaiting Results
Applicants who have fully completed the final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for both M.Tech(Res) and PhD programmes. The following conditions apply:

2. DBT-Research Associateship 2011 Biotechnology & Life Sciences

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the award of "DBT-Research Associateship" 2011 for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and applied biology.

The Associateship is tenable in Research Institution/Universities including non-profit R & D Institutions within India.

The Associateships are awarded under a program sponsored by the Department of' Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Eligibility-:
The applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in Science, Engineering or M.D. or M.S. degree in any area of medicine with research interests in Biotechnology and Life Sciences and a good academic record.

The Associateship can be availed within 3 years of the award of Ph.D./M.D./M.S. degree; however, may be relaxable in case of women (by 2 years) and in-service candidates.

Those who have already submitted the Ph.D./M.D./M.S. thesis are also eligible to apply. The applicants should preferably be below the age of 40 years and 45 years in case of women candidates.

Persons already employed are also eligible to apply. However, their applications should be routed through their employers.

Details of the Award-:
The Research Associateship is a purely temporary assignment and is tenable for a period of 2 years.

In exceptional cases, depending upon the progress of the research, the Associateship may be extended upto 5 years.

Each fellow would be entitled to a stipend in the range of Rs.22,000-24,000 per month and a research contingency grant of Rs.50,000 per year, payable to the host Institution.

Candidates who are yet to be awarded the Ph.D./M.D./M.S. degree, if selected, will be paid Rs.18,000 per month till the award of the degree.

The associate would also be entitled to HRA and other benefits as per the DST guidelines applicable to Research Associateship.

The Associateships normally are not availed at the same Institution where candidates have earned their Ph.D./M.D./M.S. degree.

Candidates who are already in regular employment can avail the Associateship during the period of his/her sabbatical/study leave,in a different institute/university

Mode of Selection-:
The candidates will be selected based on their C.V. and performance in the interview.

The interview will be held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in November 2010 and candidates called for interview will be paid II class railway (non-AC) /bus fare by the shortest route from their home town.

If the candidate accepts the Associateship, he/she must join the host Institution/University within a month's time.

Mode of Application-:
Candidates may submit their application on plain paper alongwith bio-data, list of publications (attach reprints of 2 important papers), copies of certificates (B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D./M.D./M.S.), One page synopsis of Ph.D./M.D./M.S. thesis, 2 letters of recommendation (academic).

The applicant is advised to propose his/her place of work, name of the supervisor, enclose one page synopsis of proposed research which must be compatible with the on-going research of the proposed supervisor, and his/her consent for availing the Associateship.

They should also enclose a declaration stating that if selected for the Associateship, he/she will complete the tenure of the Associateship.

However, they may be allowed to relinquish the Associateship only if accepting permanent employment in India. Those who had applied previously need not apply.

PGDCM Program is a full-time two year residential programme similar to PGDM with an additional emphasis on use of Information Technology (IT) in management.

Selection criteria

PGDCM applicants, like Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) applicants, should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT).
CAT eligibility for PGDCM is the same as for PGDM. The interview shortlist will be prepared based on multiple criteria such as CAT score, academic performance and relevant work experience. The shortlisted candidates will appear for separate PGDCM Group Discussion/ Personal Interview (GD/PI), which will also evaluate candidates' competence and interest in ICT.

RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme 2011

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme to generate interest in an awareness about the Indian baking sector and RBI. Under the Scheme, the RBI will select a maximum of 150 Young scholars through a countrywide competitive examination and award scholarship. Selection test will focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India and will be held in English as well as in all major regional languages. Selected candidates will be required to work on projects in select offices of RBI for 2 to 3 months and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.7500/- per month during the duration of the project. RBI will assist outstation awardees in boarding and lodging. The awardees shall have no right/claim for an appointment in the RBI. Any candidate who had qualified and worked at RBI under the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme in any of the previous years are not eligible to apply again.

All students, between 18 and 23 years of age, currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any subject under any recognized university in India, are eligible to take the competitive examination. There is no application fee. The selection test will be held on January 9, 2011 at various centres across India. The results of the selection test are likely to be announced in the middle of March, 2011. MBA (Full-Time)

Eligibility
Candidates applying for admission to the MBA (Full Time) programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor's Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines, having secured minimum aggregate Marks as indicated below:

Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences – 50 %
Sciences – 55 %
Mathematics or Statistics – 60%
Medicine, Engineering or Technology – 60% / CGPA of at least 6 on a scale of 10
OR
Post Graduate Degree or 2 Degree examination after 10+2+3 scheme, securing at least 60% marks.

Note: Candidates appearing in the final year examination of Bachelor's / Post Graduate Degree Examinations are eligible to apply and appear in the Entrance Test irrespective of their percentage of scores obtained till the time of application, provided that they expect to fulfill the eligibility criteria when their results are declared and which must be submitted to the FMS Office
before 1st October 2011.


Three-year MBA (Part-Time)
The Part-time Master of Business Administration programme is designed for working professionals. Learners should have a minimum of three years work experience at the time of entering the programme.

All applicants are required to clear an Entrance Test to be held on January 23, 2011 at 2 :00 pm in Delhi. Eligible applicants will be called for an interview. Candidates will be required to produce original certificates and mark-sheets at the time of Interview. The final list of candidates selected to the programme will be announced after completing the interview processes.

Eligibility
Every candidate seeking admission should have passed a Bachelor's Degree Examination of at least three years duration with a minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate. Relaxation of this criterion may be made for those who scored more than 55% marks in the aggregate in their post graduate degree/ at least 60% marks in a Diploma in Personnel Management, Diploma in
Management, Diploma in Sales & Marketing or Diploma in Administrative Management of Delhi University conducted by FMS in earlier years.

Candidates should have at least three years experience as an executive or an administrator in a commercial, industrial or government establishment after passing the Bachelor's Degree Examination. Three years Full-Time experience shall be determined as on 1st August of the year of admission. The candidate must be sponsored by his/her present employer.

Note: Sponsorship requires applications to be certified by the present employer. The employer need not bear any financial responsibility.

Three-year MBA (PT) Health Care Administration

Eligibility
Candidates seeking admission to the course should have passed a Bachelor's Degree Examination in Medicine of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent.
Candidates should have at least five years experience in Health Care System after acquiring the Bachelor's Degree in Medicine. Five years experience shall be determined as on 1st August of the year of admission. the Candidate must be sponsored by his/her present employer.

All applicants are required to clear an entrance test to be held on January 23, 2011 at 2:00 pm in Delhi.

PhD in Management

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the PhD programme, a candidate must have obtained a Master's/ M. Phil degree of the University of Delhi, or any other recognized University, or any postgraduate degree in an allied subject recognized as equivalent in the subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue a course of research. She/ he must have obtained either a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in the M.Phil degree or a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in the Master's degree.

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree of four years or more, viz. B.Tech or M.B.B.S who have obtained a minimum of 70% and 60% marks or equivalent grades respectively, and also have obtained any national level fellowships are also eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure
Candidates (except those belonging to the categories listed below) seeking admission to the doctoral programme, are required to take the Admission Test to be held on 5th December 2010. Shortlisted candidates will thereafter be required to submit the form of the Board of
Research Studies (Management) at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi by 31st January 2011.

All eligible candidates, including those declared successful in the Entrance Test, will be required to appear for a personal interview for finally being considered for admission to the doctoral programme.

Candidates Exempted from Admission test
1. Teachers of University of Delhi holding permanent, temporary or ad-hoc positions and having completed two years of service as teacher in a Department/ Constituent College of University of Delhi.

2. Applicants appearing in the final year examination of MBA (FT/ MS/PT/HCA) programmes at FMS, University of Delhi and / or candidates who have successfully completed MBA (FT/MS/PT/HCA) programme from FMS during the last two years.

Condition:
The Master's degree or equivalent qualification/Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification should be:
(a) from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956; or (b) recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates who are in the final year of their Master's/Bachelor's Programmes that would make them eligible can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2011 from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar or Director of the university/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2011) stating that they have appeared for the examinations (including practical examinations) in all the subjects required for obtaining the Master's/bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification. Their admission will be
confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the
master's/bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2011.
Please note that those candidates who have applied on the basis of their master's degree will have to meet the 55% marks stipulation, and those who have applied on the basis of their bachelor's degree will have to meet the 60% marks stipulation. Non -fulfillment of these conditions will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

Selection-:
Based on the information provided by the applicants, shortlisted candidates will be called to Bangalore for a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and interview for final selection. Selection will be based on applicant’s performance in CAT/ GRE/ /GMAT/GATE/JRF/SRF/NET as applicable, past academic performance, work
experience, and aptitude for research. RAT and Interviews are expected to be held in the first week of March 2011.
Selected candidates are required to attend the preparatory course which is expected to be scheduled in the first week of June 2011. Registration for the programme will be in the last week of June 2011.

Financial Support-:
FPM Students in good standing will receive a total support of Rs 2, 88,000/- per annum in addition to tuition waiver, to cover their living expenses, books and materials, insurance and other contingency expenses.
Also during the programme the following support is available to the students.
• Start up grant of Rs 50,000/- to meet expenses on purchasing hardware, software, data base etc.
• National Conference grants up to Rs 10,000/- each for two conferences.
• One International Conference grant up to Rs 1, 00,000/- on a competitive basis.

National Environmental Sciences Fellows Programme 2010

The Ministry of Environment & Forests invites applications, under its newly launched ‘National Environmental Sciences Fellows Programme’ for the year 2010-11 from Scientists of India or of Indian origin desirous of participating in cutting-edge research on critical issues related to environment in collaboration with leading Institutes and Scientists in India and the world.

However, as this Fellowship Programme is interested in people with unique ideas and capable of thinking out of the box, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit proposals on any new challenges/ issues outside of this matrix but relating to the current environmental scenario of the country/ world, along with innovative, cost-effective, practicable & implementable solutions to such challenges.

While it is not mandatory, it would be desirable if the applicant has already carried out at least 10-20% of the research work proposed to be undertaken under the Fellowship Programme.

All other details of the Fellowship Programme, including eligibility criteria, selection procedure, Fellowship emoluments and other terms and conditions etc. are given in the booklet ‘National Environmental Sciences Fellows Programme’, which is available in the website of the Ministry at www.envfor.nic.in

The application has to be submitted in the prescribed proforma available in the booklet quoted above and has to be accompanied by a short paper (not exceeding 1-2 pages) on the applicant’s proposed research proposal clearly identifying the new knowledge that it will help to generate alongwith a summary of work already carried out by the applicant in the area. Short-listed candidates shall be invited for an interactive discussion with the Management Committee constituted by the Ministry under the ‘National Environmental Sciences Fellows Programme’.

XAT 2011 XLRI PG Admissions Test 2011

XLRI Jamshedpur is conducting Admission Test XAT 2011 on all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education.

The XLRI Admission Test – XAT 2011 will be conducted on Sunday 02 January 2011.

XAT Registration-:

Candidates can pay requisite fee and register for XAT Admission Test and XLRI admissions in the following manner

1. Procedure for XLRI Registration and obtaining XLRI Prospectus from Axis Bank
A candidate has to first register for XLRI at www.xlri.net.in and then only he / she can obtain XLRI Prospectus from select branches of Axis Bank.

1. Register for XAT: : Candidate desirous of taking admission to XLRI has to first register for XAT 2011 online. On successful completion of registration for XAT 2011, the candidate will get his XAT ID and password. With this the candidate can register for XLRI by opening the site www.xlri.net.in and then clicking on the link "XLRI Registration Page". A page opens up where the candidate is required to furnish his/her XAT ID and password to proceed further.

2. Register for XLRI: If the XAT ID and password furnished are correct, the XLRI Registration page opens up wherein the candidate is required to fill some basic personal details and also the name of the nearest Axis Bank branch from where he/she intends to buy the prospectus, programme(s) he/she is opting and the requisite amount depending on the number of programme(s) opted. After completing these details and submitting, a mail is sent to the candidate’s E-Mail address with the XAT ID and Password. The candidate is required to log into her/his E-Mail and validate the mail sent from XLRI.

3. Continue Registration for XLRI: After completing the validation process the candidate is required to log into www.xlri.net.in and open the XLRI Registration page. He logs into the application using the XAT ID and the Password. The candidate logs in and continues filling the other required details.

4. Cost of XLRI Prospectus: The cost of the XLRI Prospectus 2011 depends on number of programme(s) applied for. The cost is as follows:

For General candidates
Rs 1000/- for one programme or Rs 1600/- for more than one and maximum of three programme.

For SC/ST candidates
Rs 700/- for one programme or Rs 1200/- for more than one and maximum of three programmes. Candidate should take the SC/ST certificate with them to the bank.

5. Download XLRI Pay-in-slip: After completing the other details and submitting the form, the candidate has to then download the XLRI Pay-in-slip. The XLRI Pay-in-slip will have the date of registration, XLRI Pay-in-slip No., name of the Axis Bank branch, name of the candidate, number of courses opted and the amount to be paid for the prospectus. The printed pay-in-slip is in three parts. You have to take all these three parts of the pay-in-slip to the Axis bank branch.

6. Go to Axis Bank Branch: The candidate has to take the printed Pay-in-slip to the Axis Bank branch to buy the XLRI Prospectus 2011. On tendering the requisite amount (cost of XLRI Prospectus depending on number of programs opted) along with the printed pay-in-slips, the bank will issue a XLRI Prospectus 2011 and enter the Prospectus Number, Bank Tran ID and put a bank seal on the pay-in-slips. The bank will retain the Bank’s copy of the pay-in-slip with them and return the rest of the pay-in-slip to the candidate.

7. Fill Detachable Form: The candidate has to fill-up the detachable form given at the end of the prospectus. All entries are to be filled-up correctly and should be same as that filled in the online form.

8. Attach Pay-in-slip: The candidate has to then attach the XLRI’s copy of the pay-in-slip in the space provided on the form. The Candidate’s copy of the pay-in-slip is to be carefully retained by the candidate for future reference, if any.

9. Send Certificate along with Form: The candidate has to then carefully detach the form from the prospectus and send it to XLRI Office, Jamshedpur along with the photo copies of 10th, 12th, graduation certificates (or latest mark sheet of papers/years completed till date) and SC/ST certificate (for SC/ST candidates only) through courier/registered post/speed post in the special envelope given inside the prospectus. This form along with pay-in-slip and photo copies of the educational certificates should reach the Admission Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001 within seven days from date of purchase of prospectus.

10. Declaring Shortlisted Candidates: The list of the short listed candidates for XLRI GD / PI will be declared on the website www.xlri.ac.in by January 31, 2011. The names of the candidates who subsequently succeed in the selection interviews and/or group discussions for admission to XLRI will be intimated individually and also will be declared at the same website.

Procedure for obtaining XLRI Prospectus from the Admissions Office, XLRI Jamshedpur and the XLRI Registration using Demand Draft

1. Register for XAT: A candidate interested in XLRI, has to first register for XAT. The XAT ID and password so obtained are required for applying to XLRI.

2. Cost of XLRI Prospectus: The cost of XLRI Prospectus 2011 depends on the number of programme(s) applied for. A candidate intending to apply for one programme or more than one but maximum of three programmes has to make a demand draft (DD) for an amount as given below.

For General candidates
A demand draft of Rs 1050/- is to be made for one programme or for Rs 1650/- if applying for more than one but maximum of three programmes.

For SC/ST candidates
A demand draft of Rs 750/- is to be made for one programme or for Rs 1250/- if applying for more than one but maximum of three programmes.

3. Issue of Demand Draft (DD): The DD has to be drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c Prospectus", payable at Jamshedpur

4. Register for XLRI: The candidate has to then log on to the website www.xlri.net.in and open XLRI Registration. Here he/she has to fill in the XLRI form and opt for the programmes(s) he/she intends to apply for. The candidate has to fill some basic personal details and provide the payment particulars of the demand draft number, amount, and date and submit the form online. The candidate has to mention their XAT ID and name on the reverse of the draft. After completing these details and submitting a mail is sent to the candidate’s e-Mail address with the XAT ID and Password. The candidate is required to log into his e-mail and validate the mail sent from XLRI.

Continue Registration for XLRI: After completing the validation process the candidate is required to log into www.xlri.net.in and open the XLRI Registration page. He logs into the application using the XAT ID and the Password. The candidate logs in and continues filling the other required details and submits the form.

5. Download XLRI PA Form: Once the candidate submits the form he/she can proceed to take printout of XLRI Payment Advise Form (XLRI PA Form).

6. Send the DD and Form: The candidate has to enclose the demand draft along with the duly completed XLRI PA Form and photo copies of 10th, 12th and graduation certificates (or latest mark sheet of papers/years completed till date) and SC/ST certificate (for SC/ST candidates only) through courier/registered post/speed post/ in the special envelope given inside the prospectus. XLRI PA Form along with DD and photo copies of the educational certificate should reach the Admissions Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001 within seven days from date of issue of DD. Candidates are advised to keep a photo copy of the DD and all the forms that they send to XLRI for future reference.

7. Mailing of XLRI Prospectus to candidates: XLRI Prospectus will be sent to the candidates after receiving the request complete in all respects. Candidates are not required to send the detachable form given inside the prospectus.

8. Declaring Shortlisted Candidates: The list of the short listed candidates for XLRI GD / PI will be declared on the website www.xlri.ac.in by January 31, 2011. The names of the candidates who subsequently succeed in the selection interviews and/or group discussions for admission to XLRI will be intimated individually and also will be declared on www.xlri.ac.in .

1. Register for XAT: A candidate interested in XLRI, has to first register for XAT. The XAT ID and password so obtained are required for applying to XLRI.

2. Cost of XLRI Prospectus : The cost of XLRI Prospectus 2011 depends on the number of programme(s) applied for. A candidate intending to apply for one programme or more than one but maximum of three programmes has to make an online payment for an amount as given below.


For General candidates
A demand draft of Rs 1050/- is to be made for one programme or for Rs 1650/- if applying for more than one but maximum of three programmes.

For SC/ST candidates
A demand draft of Rs 750/- is to be made for one programme or for Rs 1250/- if applying for more than one but maximum of three programmes.

3. Register for XLRI: The candidate has to then log on to the website www.xlri.net.in and open XLRI Registration. Here he/she has to fill in the XLRI form and opt for the programmes(s) he/she intends to apply for. The candidate has to fill some basic personal details and provide the payment mode as online payment the form online. After completing these details and submitting a mail is sent to the candidate’s E-Mail address with the XAT ID and Password. The candidate is required to log into his E-Mail and validate the mail sent from XLRI.

Continue Registration for XLRI: After completing the validation process the candidate is required to log into www.xlri.net.in and open the XLRI Registration page. He logs into the application using the XAT ID and the Password. The candidate logs in and continues filling the other required details and then moves onto the payment mode.

4. Make online payment: The candidate has the option to make an online payment using the Axis Bank payment gateway. The candidate can use a credit card/debit card or make use the net banking facility. Please note that American Express cards cannot be used to make the online payment. To make an online payment, select the online payment option in the form by clicking on the radio button. Candidate is taken to the payment gateway of Axis Bank where the payment mode (credit card/debit/online banking) has to be selected. After successful transaction, candidate will be redirected to the confirmation page where transaction details are displayed and the online payment receipt is displayed. This has to be saved and a copy of the same printed.

5. Download XLRI PA Form: Once the candidate submits the form he/she can proceed to take printout of XLRI Payment Advise Form (XLRI PA Form).

6. Send the online payment receipt and Form : The candidate has to enclose the online payment receipt along with the duly completed XLRI PA Form and photo copies of 10th, 12th and graduation certificates (or latest mark sheet of papers/years completed till date) and SC/ST certificate (for SC/ST candidates only) through courier/registered post/speed post in the special envelope given inside the prospectus. XLRI PA Form along with transaction receipt and photo copies of the educational certificate should reach the Admissions Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001 within seven days from date of online payment made. Candidates are advised to keep a photo copy of the transaction receipt and all the forms that they send to XLRI for future reference.

7. Mailing of XLRI Prospectus to candidates: XLRI Prospectus will be sent to the candidates after receiving the request complete in all respects. Candidates are not required to send the detachable form given inside the prospectus.

8. Declaring Shortlisted Candidates: The list of the short listed candidates for XLRI GD / PI will be declared on the website www.xlri.ac.in by January 31, 2011. The names of the candidates who subsequently succeed in the selection interviews and/or group discussions for admission to XLRI will be intimated individually and also will be declared on www.xlri.ac.in

The two-year PGPBF is designed as a contemporary, rigorous, innovative and practical source of management education. Eligibility for Admission and Admission Procedure
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidates CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the University/Institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained atleast 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2011 from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2011) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute with atleast 50% marks. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2011. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission. NIBM would not allow any candidate to join the programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2011. NIBM would also not offer admission to any candidate after June 30, 2011.
