The UPSC will conduct the Civil Services (Main) exam from 1st December to 5th December, 2013 for candidates who had successfully qualified the preliminary exam that was conducted in May this year.

All India Council for Technical Education- AICTE, New Delhi has extended online registration for Common Management Aptitude Test - CMAT exam 2014-15 for the Sept 2013 session.

Last date of CMAT Sept 2013 online registration has been extended to 26th August

National Talent Search Examination 2014

National Talent Search Examination- NTSE for the year 2014 will be conducted for Class 10 students for providing scholarships for the year 2014.

About National Talent Search Examination.
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship program in India to identify and recognise students with high intellect and academic talent. It is one of the most prestigious exams in India. Around 1,50,000 students appear in this scholarship exam every year.

The scheme is open to students of Indian nationality. Only students studying in Class X are eligible to appear for the selection process. As it is organised by an official body (NCERT), it is widely regarded by the Government of India as the toughest and most prestigious examination at high school level in the country

The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture them. This year NCERT will conduct the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class X.

Eligibility: All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage -I examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.

Exam Pattern:

The pattern of written examination will be as follows:

Stage I : examination at the State/UT level will comprise of two parts, namely

(a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and

Stage II: examination at the National level will comprise of

Eligibility :
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidates CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM (B & FS) of NIBM should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) by IIMs as a pre-requisite. The CAT registration will be held from August 5, 2013 to September 26, 2013.

Indian Education Loan Simplified Information

Indian banks provide education loans to students who are Indian nationals and are pursuing approved graduate, post-graduate and professional courses in the country and abroad. The repayment starts after a year of course completion or six months after the student gets a job, whichever is earlier.

Banks provide education loans to pursue academic and job-oriented courses approved by them. They cover the tuition fee, hostel expenses, books and useful equipment, travel for overseas courses and other expenses essential to completing the course.

The maximum amount of the loan ranges from Rs 10 lakh for Indian courses to Rs 20 lakh for studies abroad. Banks may consider a higher loan depending on the course. Margins are required for loans more than Rs 4 lakh.

While no margin is required for loans up to Rs 4 lakh, a 5% margin is applicable for amounts more than Rs 4 lakh for studies in India, and 15% in case the studies are pursued in a foreign country.

For loans up to Rs 4 lakh, no collateral is required, while for those between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh, a third-party guarantee for 100% of the value of loan is needed. In case the loan value is above Rs 7.5 lakh, a suitable collateral security would be required.

Repayment commences one year after the course ends or six months after the candidate gets a job, whichever is earlier. The EMIs are calculated with a tenure not exceeding 10 years for loans up to Rs 7.5 lakh, and 15 years for higher amounts.

The entire interest paid on the education loan is tax-deductible under Section 80E. The deduction for interest payment is available for eight consecutive years, the first year being the year in which the repayment starts.

UPSC declared the results of National Defence Academy and Naval Academy examination (I) 2013, on 13 August 2013. Candidates appeared for the UPSC NDA, NA (I) written examination on 14th April 2013 can check their results at the Union Public Services Commission website: http://www.upsc.gov.in.

The mark-sheets of the candidates, will be put on the Commission’s website within fifteen (15) days from the date of publication of the final result (after concluding SSB Interviews) and will remain available on the website for a period of sixty days

Eligibility:

IGNOU Research Degree Programmes in various Disciplines for January 2014 Cycle.

A candidate seeking registration in the Research Degree Programmes (MPhil/PhD) must hold a Master’s Degree in the relevant Discipline/Areas or other equivalent qualification.

The candidate should have secured at least 55% marks in the Master’s Degree (50% for Reserved Category).

An Entrance Examination (ENTEX-01) shall be conducted on all-India basis at examination centers located in various regions. Candidates with only Post graduate Qualification (with a minimum of 55% marks in the Master’s Degree/50% for Reserved Categories) will have to appear in ENTEX-01. In addition, select Disciplines may prescribe Entrance Examination for all the candidates even if they have additional qualifications.

Candidates qualifying in the Entrance Examination will have to appear in an Interview at IGNOU Headquarters.

Candidates holding Master’s Degree with 55% (50% for Reserved Category) and MPhil/UGC-NET/SLET/JEST of DAE/GATE of IIT or equivalent examination or have Professional/Work Experience as prescribed by the Discipline may be exempted from the Entrance Examination

All applicants will attach a research proposal prepared as per guidelines and instructions in application form without which the application is liable to be rejected. This condition is applicable even on candidates taking ENTEX-01.
