Eligibility :

AICTE Scholarships for Differently-abled Students

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is offering scholarship to 1000 differently-abled students who can show brilliance in and want to pursue technical education. It is an attempt to give every young student who is disabled, the opportunity to study further and to lead a successful and dignified future. The students must be a student of graduation course under AICTE.

The last date to submit application is November 30.
Eligibility criteria:

* Interested candidates must be in the 1st year of any diploma or degree course recognised by AICTE

* Further, the family income must be less than 8 lakh per annum

* For this scholarship, specially-abled students with 40 per cent disability can apply

Reward:

All the selected candidates will get up to Rs 30,000 as tuition fee and Rs 2,000 per month for 10 months as contingency allowance.

Selection process:

Important Change in JEE Main 2018

Since there is no weightage of class 12th marks in calculation of ranks in JEE (Main) – 2017, so, the roll number of class 12th is not verified this year by the CBSE, however, the candidates have to show the marksheet of class 12th (regular/improvement) with 75% marks at the reporting centres at the time of counselling /admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs. Further, the candidates who have been allotted rank in JEE (Main) – 2017 are advised to visit the website www.josaa.nic.in and www.csab.nic.in for counseling and admission process in IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs.

Qualification requirements for JEE Mains 2018

For B.E / B.Tech: Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) announces admissions to the MBA (Banking & Finance) Programme for the session commencing January 2018. The last date to receive the request for supply of Student Handbook by post is 30.11.2017 and for submission of filled-in forms at the concerned Regional Centre is 29.12.2017.

This programme is specifically designed for professionals working in the banks. The same is being offered through countrywide network of Study Centres of IGNOU. The programme has been developed jointly by School of Management Studies, IGNOU and the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF), Mumbai.

The programme would be offered through the ODL mode and uses standard IGNOU multi-media design and technology aided delivery systems.

For seeking admission to the programme, a candidate should:

a. be a graduate of not less than 3 years duration from a recognized University/Institution,

b. have passed the CAIIB examinations of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai and awarded the requisite qualification/credentials thereof by the Institute, and

IIM Lucknow FPM Admission 2018

The FPM programme attracts students of the highest quality and prepares them for academic careers at leading business schools of India. The FPM program consists of two components: The coursework exposes scholars to a variety of core and elective MBA as well as Fellow level area-specific courses and provides exhaustive training in research methodology. A team of faculty, chaired by a principal supervisor, supervises the second component of independent research. The program, with its ample financial support, facilitates FPM scholars to present and participate in national and international conferences and doctoral consortiums. In addition, a rich tradition of internal seminars provides a perfect learning platform for FPM scholars.

Eligibility

The ideal applicants for the Fellow Programme are those who possess strong academic background, preferably with professional experience, and intellectual curiosity and discipline needed for scholarship in management.

The applicants for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE.

A Masters’ Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 55% aggregate marks
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 60% marks or equivalent grade point average
OR
Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum 55% aggregate marks.

In addition, all the applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level. Work experience in industry or academics, though not mandatory, will be given due credit in the selection process. The work experience as full-time executives or as management teachers in an organization/institution (AICTE approved) of repute is only considered as the valid experience.

Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30 June 2018.

However, for specialization in Agri-Business Management following is the eligibility criteria

A Masters’ degree or its equivalent in Agribusiness Management or any discipline of Agricultural and Allied Sciences with minimum 55% aggregate marks.

OR
A Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural / Food / Biotechnology and Allied Engineering with 60% marks or equivalent grade point average

Age Limit

Applicants must not be more than 55 years as on 30th June, 2018
Selection Process

Applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria stated above are required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Alternatively, those who have a valid GATE/GRE/GMAT or JRF/SRF(UGC/CSIR/ICAR) score/certificate can also apply in the relevant area of specialization.Scores of any of these examinations including CAT taken during the last two years (i.e on or after 01 January, 2016) will be considered valid.

Applicants already holding a one/two/three year-full-time classroom based PGDM from any of the IIM/WMP of IIM Lucknow with a minimum CGPA of 6 on a 10 point scale or an equivalent 3.0 in 4.0 point scale and a corresponding letter grade `B’ are exempted from taking one of the exams listed above, and can apply directly through the prescribed Application Form. Such applicants are also eligible to get a waiver of the first year course work and can directly join the second year of the programme.

The applicants short-listed on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above will be called to Lucknow for a personal interview for final selection in April 2018 and the successful applicants will receive offers by mid-May 2018.

Admission to the programme is open to overseas applicants including NRIs and foreign nationals. Their admission will be based on GMAT/GRE scores obtained within previous one year.
Duration of the Programme and Accommodation

FPM is a full-time residential programme. Students are expected to complete the programme in four years. However, under special circumstances extension of two more years may be granted. The students spend their first two years for course work and the last two years for research and thesis preparation.

Campus hostel facility is available for stay of married students with their immediate family (spouse and children).
Financial Support

All FPM students are provided with a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000/- during the first two years of course work and Rs.30,000/- after successful completion of course work plus some financial incentives depending on their involvement in academic duties such as teaching, grading etc during the third and fourth years. The students are also eligible to get liberal grant for buying book/ hardware/software etc. and for attending national and international conferences. In addition to these, they are exempted from fees, provided with free lodging facilities. NRIs and foreign applicants will be required to bear all the expenses including the tuition fee.

EWC Asia Studies Fellowship 2018

East-West Center (EWC) accepts Asia Studies Fellowship applications from scholars and analysts who wish to undertake research and writing on topics of relevance to contemporary US-Asia policy. EWC Asia Studies Fellowship Program applications are generally available in the month of November/ December each year.

EWC is particularly interested in proposals regarding key challenges in U.S.-Asia relations and possible responses and approaches to addressing those challenges. Specific topics of interest include but are not limited to: competing economic initiatives in Asia; changes in relationships between Asian countries and their impact on the U.S.; and sustaining U.S. alliances and partnerships.

To facilitate this research and allow participants to engage with the resources and experts of the U.S. policy community, the Asia Studies Visiting Fellowship (ASVF) finances residencies for a period of three (3) months at the East-West Center in Washington in Washington, D.C. Exceptional proposals that justify up to six (6) months will be considered in rare circumstances if funds and space allow.
EWC Asia Studies Fellowship Amount

The fellowship includes a monthly stipend of US$2,500 to $5,000 (dependent upon experience) while in residence at the EWC in Washington; office space and accompanying resources; and round trip economy airfare to Washington, D.C.

Residency may begin as early as March 2018 and extend through September 2018. All fellowships must conclude by September 30. Fellows are responsible for securing their own housing and medical insurance coverage during their term of residency.
Eligibility for EWC Asia Studies Fellowship Program

Applicants with or without a Ph.D. will be considered; those without a Ph.D. will be considered based on their relevant professional experience. Applicants must be nationals of a country from the Asia-Pacific or the United States and eligible to receive a fellowship stipend.

The Proposal Must

Summer Training Program at AcSIR provides an opportunity to spend one of your summers working at premier research Laboratories of CSIR with some of the leading scientists in India, in an environment which promotes trans-disciplinary research.

The program is supported/ funded by AcSIR through its AcSIR-Kalam Fellowship.

Fellowship Details

Total number of Fellowships: 20 (With Scholarship)
Duration: Two months; Between the months of May and August
Amount of Fellowship: Rs. 25,000 per student for the duration of the program (payable after successful completion of the training program and submission of project report to the Laboratory Coordinator)
Travel allowance to the selected student: Reimbursable to a maximum of Rs. 5,000 per selected student
This is a compulsorily Residential Program where the selected students would be required to stay on campus of the respective CSIR Labs on charge basis.

* Interested candidates should be holding a first class Bachelor's degree in any discipline
* Minimum three years of work experience is required

Selection will be through a DoMS entrance exam and a personal interview will be held in December 2017 at IIT Madras. The entrance exam will comprise of multiple choice questions on quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal ability. Results will be announced in December 2017 and the classes will commence in January 2018.
