How to Apply?

A candidate can obtain XAT Bulletin from select branches of AXIS Bank on payment of Rs. 800/- (Rupees eight hundred only). For the Axis bank location details visit http://www.xlri.edu/bankname.php

A Candidate can also obtain XAT Bulletin from XAT Office, XLRI Jamshedpur by sending a DD drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" for Rs. 850/- (Rupees eight hundred fifty only) payable at Jamshedpur.

Registration for XAT 2009
1. The candidate has to visit the website www.xlri.edu and go to XAT Registration. Here he/she has to fill in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes XAT Bulletin No, date, AXIS Bank branch name/ demand draft number, date and personal details. After online submission the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password.

2. Once the candidate provides the application details for XAT associate institutes he/she can proceed to take the printout of XAT Payment Advice cum Photo Form (XAT PP Form).

3. The candidate has to paste his/her recent photograph and put full signature in the designated space provided on the XAT PP Form. Mention your XAT ID and your name on the reverse of the DD. The candidate has to enclose the demand draft along with the XAT PP Form and send it by registered post / speed post / courier so as to reach XAT Office, XLRI Jamshedpur on or before December 05, 2008.

4. XAT office, XLRI Jamshedpur will send the XAT Bulletin after receiving the XAT PP Form & DD.

5. The candidate has to keep a printout of XAT ID and password for any modifications to personal details, taking a printout of XAT 2009 Admit Card and for any correspondence with the XAT Office.

6. The candidate has to go online to www.xlri.edu anytime during December 18, 2008 and January 01, 2009 and can take a print out of the XAT 2009 Admit Card where the Address of the Test Centre will be mentioned.

Indian Veterinary Research Institute Ph.D. Programme

Indian Veterinary Research Institute will conduct A competitive written examination on all India basis for admission to Ph.D. degree Programme in Veterinary Physiology at IVRI, Izatnagar Bareilly (U.P.) on 21st September, 2008 (Sunday).

ELIGIBILITY: -

Course details

PGDCM Program is a full-time two year residential programme similar to PGDM with an additional emphasis on use of Information Technology (IT) in management.

Selection criteria

PGDCM applicants, like Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) applicants, should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Applicants are advised to refer the CAT advertisement released in leading newspapers on July 13, 2008.

CAT eligibility for PGDCM is the same as for PGDM. The interview shortlist will be prepared based on multiple criteria such as CAT score, academic performance and relevant work experience. The shortlisted candidates will appear for separate PGDCM Group Discussion/ Personal Interview (GD/PI), which will also evaluate candidates' competence and interest in ICT.

IIM Ahmedabad PGP-PMP admissions

One-Year Post-Graduate Programme in Public Management and Policy 2009-2010

Eligibility: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline and must have at least seven year’s work experience in supervisory/ managerial/ administrative position. Candidates with legislative experience can also apply provided they are: 27 or more years old and have one or more years of experience as minister at central level or as a member of Parliament or two or more years of experience as minister at state level or as member of state assembly or have served local bodies for five or more years. However, all such applicants must have a bachelor’s degree.

In addition, all applicants must have valid GMAT/GRE score obtained between April 1, 2006, and November 3, 2008, or CAT (Common Admission Test) score from any of last three CATs.

Applicants without GMAT/GRE/ CAT score will necessarily have to take IIMA’s special aptitude test. The test would be held in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, and Kolkata. The Indian Institute of Social Welfare And Business Management (IISWBM) invites applications for admission to the two-year MBA (Session 2009-2011) and two-year MHRM (Session 2009-2011) degree courses of Calcutta University.

Eligibility
* Honours degree in any discipline

* Graduate in any professional course (Engineering, etc), LLB (5 years) of a recognised University.

Selection
Through the Common Admission Test (CAT) of the IIMs. IISWBM uses CAT for shortlisting the candidates for both courses. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. To appear in CAT minimum 50 per cent marks is required and for SC/ST etc 45 per cent marks in Bachelor's Degree (Details available in CAT notification).

Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) Undergraduate Associateship Programme

Undergraduate Associateship Programme at the Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata.

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for selection of Undergraduate Associates under the auspices of the Centre for Advanced Research and Education (CARE) of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata.

Eligibility

Candidates from the first or second year Science undergraduate programme (B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biological Sciences) in 2008 who have secured at least 80 per cent marks in Science and Mathematics and at least 75 per cent in aggregate in Class XII Board Examination are encouraged to apply.

Selection details

The final selection amongst the short listed candidates may involve an interview where the candidate needs to display resourcefulness, passion for scientific research as well as mastery of scientific concepts.

Selected Undergraduate Associates will be exposed to short term courses and laboratory training through short projects under the guidance of assigned mentors for a total period of about 60-90 days. During this period they will receive a stipend (@ Rs 150 day) along with a book grant of Rs 6,000 per annum. A travel allowance will also be given for outstation Undergraduate Associates. The programme is for the undergraduate years.

On successful completion of the programme, associates will be issued a certificate. A few of the Undergraduate Associates may be selected as Graduate Associates of SINP if they pursue Masters Programmes in Basic sciences. On successful completion of the MSc course with First Class or equivalent grades they may be considered for absorption as Research Fellows of SINP with the usual fellowship.

IIT mumbai Programme in Marketing and Human Resource Management

The Institute announces the 5th batch of CEP Certificate Programme in Marketing and Human Resource Management to be held at Mumbai and New Delhi.

This program has been exclusively designed to meet the emerging needs and includes topics that bridge the existing gap and facilitate easy transition to the required platform for success. Proposed Certificate Programme in Management with specialization in Marketing and Managing People is an endeavor to provide an opportunity to the working professionals to get an in-depth orientation and exposure of management through the faculty of repute.

This programme seeks to address a set of issues as stated below:

National Institute Of Homoeopathy BHMS admissions 2008

Applications are invited for admissions to the five and a half year, Bachelor Degree Course (BHMS) in homoeopathy at the National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences for the academic year 2008-2009.
Eligibility
*Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with the subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50 per cent marks in aggregate for general candidates and 45 per cent marks for the scheduled caste/ scheduled tribe candidates are eligible to apply.

*The candidates should attain 17 years of age by December 31, 2008.

*The candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2) candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof. Blind (including colour blind) deaf and/ or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

Selection
Out of total admission of 60 candidates.
(i) 14* seats are for the candidates nominated from the following States/ Union Territories : Jammu and Kashmir [Images] (1), Manipur (1), Meghalaya (1), Mizoram (2), Nagaland (1), Sikkim (1), Tripura (2), Andman and Nicobar Island (1), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1), Daman and Diu (1), Lakshwadeep (1) and Pondicherry (1)

(ii) Six seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals of which five seats are for candidates from BIMSTEC Countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lank and Thailand) nominated by Indian Council of Cultural Relations, New Delhi [Images] and one seat for candidates under self financing scheme nominated by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

(iii) 10** seats to be filled by candidate sponsored by Govt of Sri Lanka [Images] through Ministry of external affairs Govt of India through the Dept of AYUSH, Government of India.
** Out of these 10 seats, if adequate candidates are not sponsored by Govt of Sri Lanka the remaining seats will be kept vacant and no other candidate will be admitted.

*The admission test will be of three hours duration and carrying an aggregate of 200 marks. The pattern of questions will be of multiple choice (single correct answer) type 200 questions -- Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions), Biology (60 questions) and General Knowledge (20 questions).

How to apply
*Filled in application (in candidate's own handwriting- PROFORMA of application available at http://www.nih.nic.in/BHMS_Admission%20Notice08-09.html) is to be sent along with a self addressed with Pincode, stamped (Rs 15/-) envelope (size: 31x12 cm) and a bank draft for Rs 400/- payable at Kolkata, in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata (IPO/ cheque/ cash/ money order will not be accepted).

*No bank draft is required in case of SC/ST candidates but a copy of caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer should accompany the application.

*Also enclose four identical copies of recent (taken after June 30, 2008 with a placard showing candidate's name and date of photo / the photographs should be taken without spectacles and cap/hat) passport size (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) colour photographs. [two copies are to be pasted on the specified area on the application, which should be attested by a Gazetted Officer after pasting with part of signature on the photograph and part of signature on the application form, other two unpasted should be signed on the reverse by candidate].

*Applications accompanied by hazy, old or unidentifiable photographs are liable to be rejected without assigning any reason. Candidates must put their full signature in all the places asked for at all the stages of admission process.
