IGNOU relax eligibility for Management Programmes
The announcement was made by Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor of the varsity.
Now, fresh graduates with 50 percent and 45 percent marks for general and reserved category respectively are applicable to appear for the OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU.
"The essential clause of 3 years experience in Supervisory and Managerial category for graduates has been removed. Even those graduates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into the Management programmes conducted by recognized institutions like CAT, MAT and state level tests conducted by State Government etc. need not sit for the OPENMAT", Prof. Pillai said.
There is no age bar for any of the following programmes:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Diploma in Management (DIM)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM)
All the above programmes have multi-media design, and technology aided delivery systems. These are offered through a countrywide network of study centres.
The University will admit students for the above degree/diplomas in Management starting from July 2009 through an Entrance Test 'OPENMAT-XXV' to be held on Sunday, February 1, 2009 all over the country.
Student handbook & prospectus for Management Programmes can be obtained from the Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 and from all the Regional Centres of IGNOU by sending a sum of Rs.550 through Demand Draft/IPO in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi / city of concerned Regional Centre or by paying Rs.550 in cash at the respective sale counters.
The last date for receipt of request for prospectus by post is December 20, 2008.
