Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University CET 2009

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) start the admission procedure for its 2009-10 academic session. The Admission Brochures-cum-Application Forms will be on sale from February 11, 2009.

The University has devised four brochures this year, for making admissions to its various undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes: Admission Brochure - I (Professional Programmes); Admission Brochure - II (Engineering & B.Arch. Programmes); Admission Brochure - III (MBBS Programme), and Admission Brochure - IV (PG Medical programmes).

Admission to about 50 academic programmes will be made through 27 Common Entrance Test (CET) this year, for almost 14,810 seats.

The University is in the process of starting several new courses this year, prominent among those are Master of Journalism & Mass Communication (weekend), M.Tech. (Mathematics & Computing) and M.Tech. (Digital Wireless Communication).

The new programmes included by the University for the CET in 2009 are: M.Sc. (Biodiversity & Conservation), Master of Education, Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics, B.Tech (Tool Engineering) and B.Tech (Environmental Engineering). GGSIPU is planning to conduct the CETs for four of its most sought-after courses MBA, MBBS, B.Tech. and MCA, at 10 cities across India, including Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhopal, Noida, Jalandhar and Nagpur, in comparison to eight cities last year. The new city centres added this year are Bangalore and Nagpur. For rest of the courses, the entrance exams will be held only in Delhi.

The CETs of MBBS and PG Medical courses will be of three hours duration whereas, the CETs of all other courses will be of two-and-a-half hours duration.

The Admission Brochure-cum-Application Form of GGSIPU can be obtained from 55 (against 48 last year) designated branches of Punjab & Sind Bank, spread all across country.

The last date for obtaining and submitting filled-in applications is April 21, 2009, except for PG Medical courses, for which it is March 26, 2009.
