CSIR - IIIM invites application for admission to Ph.D. programme in the relevant areas of research in the Institute.

Conditions for eligibility - M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Pharmaceutical sciences and qualified in CSIR-UGC-NET, ICMR, DBT examination for Junior Research Fellowship. The fellowship should be valid as on the date of joining. Candidates appearing in final exams in 2011 and who have cleared the above exams for JRF can also apply.

How to Apply - Candidates need to fill up the application form till 18th May, 2011 that can be downloaded from the Institute's website. Eligibility : The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (55% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe), of any of the Universities incorporated in any act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institution established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC
Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates appearing for the final examination of bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally and will be required to submit the result/Marksheet by 31st July 2011.

Admission Procedure : Candidates applying for MBA are required to have qualified in CAT-2010. The admission to MBA will be on the basis of CAT score, Group discussion/Personal interview. Cutoff percentile and selection criteria in case of tie in CAT score shall be decided by the Institute.
Sponsored candidates will be selected through institute test/interview. Any student seeking admission under this category shall be working on a regular post in any Govt./Semi Govt./Public Sector Units/AICTE approved Academic Institutes/Research Organizations/Public Limited Company for a minimum of 02 years, after graduation. The application form of such candidates should be dully forwarded by the parent organization sponsoring the candidate & stating that the candidate will be relieved from the organization for pursuing the full time MBA course.
The list of selected candidates will be made available on the institute website. All the candidates are required to visit the institute website regularly for updates. No individual information will be sent.

Reservation : The reservation (SC/ST/OBC/PH) will be as per Govt. of India norms.

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission to Ph.D Program scheduled to commence from July 2011 in the following schools of basic sciences at NISER Bhubaneswar:
1. School of Biological Sciences
2. School of Chemical Sciences
3. School of Mathematical Sciences
4. School of Physical Sciences

The students should have qualified the CSIR-NET/GATE/JEST/NBHM or equivalent examination valid for the current year in the relevant area of research. UGC-CSIR JRF qualified candidates can avail the fellowship directly from UGC or CSIR, whereas, students selected for Ph.D program based on GATE scores, are eligible for Fellowship from NISER as prevailing in DAE.

NISER provides Rs.16,000/- as fellowship for Selected Candidates who opt for DAE Fellowship.

IITTM invites applications from eligible students to participate in 21 days training programme during summer vacation. Programme intends to create awareness and impart basic knowledge and skills on Tourism so that the students can work as volunteers. Programme will be organized at Gwalior, Bhubaneswar and Delhi centres.

Eligibility - Graduate or pursuing graduation, between 18 to 25 years of age, NOC from the college / institute is required for joining this programme.

Stipend - Every successful participant will be paid Rs.1,000/- for entire duration of the programme and a tourism volunteer card will be given

Selection - Selection will be made through a written examination at various centres in India on May 22, 2011.

Eligibility

PhD in Science:

Master’s degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks OR Master’s degree in Science/Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 OR Bachelor’s degree in a related area in Engineering/Technology (from any Institute other than IITs / IISc) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or 75% of marks.

PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences:

Master’s degree in Arts / Commerce / Science in a relevant area with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent OR Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology /Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks OR Bachelor’s degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology (from any Institute other than IITs / IISc) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 80% marks.
