IGNOU MCA is to prepare graduate students for productive careers in software industry/ academia by providing an outstanding environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline. The programme's thrust is on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and application-oriented areas relevant to the latest computer software development.

The programme emphasises the application of software technology to solve mathematical,computing,communications/networking and commercial problems.

IGNOU Master's Degree Programme in Computer Application has been designed with a semester approach in mind. The first year courses are aimed at skills development in computers using various technologies, the second year is more focussed on core courses providing a conceptual framework and the third year provides the specialization and the project work. After the successful completion of first year courses, the student will receive the PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications) certificate.

IGNOU BPP/BCA/MCA Admissions 2012 Dates Extended

IGNOU) has extended the last date for submission of application forms for Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme (BPP), BCA, MCA and all certificate programmes to July 30, 2012 without late fee and August 14, 2012 with late fee of Rs. 200 for July 2012 session.

The student handbook and prospectus is available in all the regional centres of the University as well as with the University Headquarters for Rs.100. Students are required to submit the application form along with the requisite fee in the form of demand draft in favour of IGNOU.

Individuals desiring to obtain the student handbook and prospectus through post can send a demand draft in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi to the Registrar, Student Registration Division, Block-3, IGNOU Headquarters.

Prospectus and application form are also available on the university’s website, www.ignou.ac.in . Downloaded application form can be duly filled in and submitted with an amount of Rs.100 in addition to the programme fee in the form of demand draft/ cash order in favour of IGNOU, payable at the city where the regional centre is located.

BIT offers an innovative 5 year (10 Semester) Integrated MCA Programme for all eligible Class XII pass outs aspiring for a career in the global IT Industry. This Programme will be offered at BIT Lalpur (Ranchi city), Kolkata, Noida, Jaipur and Allahabad Centres from the session 2011 - 12

Eligibility :

Maximum age limit 21 years on 1st October, 2011 (26 yeras for SC/ST) a valid overall AIR in AIEEE 2011. Candidates must have minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in Class 10th (average of all subjects) Minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in 12th for computing percentage marks in Class 12th only 4 subjects will be counted as follows : English, Mathematics, Physics and best of one of the following Chemistry / Computer Science / Information Practice / Biology / Biotechnology / Engineering Drawing / Economics. 60%marks in English in Class 12th (50% for SC/ST)

Eligibility - Bachelor's Degree (Bachelor of Computer Applications / B.Sc Comp. Sc/IT/Electronics/B.Sc. with Maths/Stats.) from a recognized University. Admission to the full-time MCA programme 2010 - 2013, at Mesra and Extension Centres at Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur and Noida.

Eligibility : Candidates must hold a recognized Bachelor's degree (Minimum 10+2+3). in any of following : (1) BCA (2) B.Sc in Computer Sci / Infotech / Electronics (3) B.Sc / B.A with Maths / Stats at graduate level. Candidates must have minimum 60% (45% for SC/ST) marks in average in Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation (Please see website for details). Candidates graduating in 2010 can apply, provided they can submit marksheets by 31st October, 2010. Candidates with qualification acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals, and have passed the programme.

Selection Procedure : Online Entrance Test on 16 and 17 June, 2010 at Allahabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Noida, Patna and Ranchi.
