Fulbright-Nehru Environmental Leadership Program 2012
Fulbright-Nehru Environmental Leadership fellowships are designed for mid-level Indian environment professionals in public/private sector or non-governmental organizations for up to four months. The program will combine short-term practical training/internship with opportunities for networking with American counterpart organizations. Selected fellows will be placed at US environmental public/private or non-governmental organizations, academic institutions or research centers and environment related government agencies. Fellows will be expected to explore future linkages between Indian and American organizations with common agendas.
Key areas of the FNELP initiative would include, but not be limited to:
* Environmental Information/Systems Reporting
* Environmental Education
* Environmental Policy, Regulations and Law
* Environmental Sciences and Toxicology
* Environmental Management
Eligibility- : Candidates must have a master's/professional degree of at least four years duration;five years of professional experience in the respective field;and preferably be 50 years of age or under. Special attention will be given to applicants who demonstrate involvement in cooperative efforts between academia,research institutions,government,industry and NGOs to make practical contribution to environmental policies and programs

Salim Ali National Wildlife Fellowship-2011
Salim Ali National Wildlife Fellowship-2011
The Govt. of India, Ministry of Environment and Forests has decided to award the fellowship alternatively each year. Dr. Salim Ali National Wildlife Fellowship Award, 2011 for, Research/experimental project on avian wildlife is due for award.
The fellowship will be awarded normally for a period of two years at the rate of Rs.
4000/-per month. In addition, an amount of Rs.18,000/- per annum will be paid for meeting the contingent expenditure. Only Indian citizens engaged in wildlife management/research are eligible. Preference would be given to the officials of the State/UT Forest and Wildlife Department.
The nominations forwarded by the following authorities will be considered:
1. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests/CCF (WL)/Chief Wildlife Warden of all States/Union Territories.
2. Presidents of approved scientific societies.
3. Vice Chancellors of Universities.
4. Heads and Deans of Faculties of institutions like the Wildlife Institute of India,
Dehradun, Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History, Coimbatore, etc.
5. Director General of ICAR/CSIR/ICFRE.
6. Secretaries of various State Governments dealing with science, agriculture,
environment and Forestry.
7. The nominations complete in all respects should be sent in the prescribed proforma
(enclosed) by registered post along with ten copies each of bio-data and proposed
research project (500 words) and one set of reprints or other documentary evidence
of achievements. These documents may be sent in a sealed cover marked
“Confidential” and addressed Scientist ‘C’/Deputy Director (Wildlife), Ministry of
Environment and Forests, Paryavaran Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New
Delhi-110003. The name of the fellowship “Dr. Salim Ali National Wildlife
fellowship Award 2011” should be mentioned broadly on the face of the envelope.
The nominations will be accepted in the Ministry within 45 days from the date of
publication of the advertisement.

The Ministry of Environment & Forests invites applications, under its newly launched ‘National Environmental Sciences Fellows Programme’ for the year 2010-11 from Scientists of India or of Indian origin desirous of participating in cutting-edge research on critical issues related to environment in collaboration with leading Institutes and Scientists in India and the world.
However, as this Fellowship Programme is interested in people with unique ideas and capable of thinking out of the box, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit proposals on any new challenges/ issues outside of this matrix but relating to the current environmental scenario of the country/ world, along with innovative, cost-effective, practicable & implementable solutions to such challenges.
While it is not mandatory, it would be desirable if the applicant has already carried out at least 10-20% of the research work proposed to be undertaken under the Fellowship Programme.
All other details of the Fellowship Programme, including eligibility criteria, selection procedure, Fellowship emoluments and other terms and conditions etc. are given in the booklet ‘National Environmental Sciences Fellows Programme’, which is available in the website of the Ministry at www.envfor.nic.in
The application has to be submitted in the prescribed proforma available in the booklet quoted above and has to be accompanied by a short paper (not exceeding 1-2 pages) on the applicant’s proposed research proposal clearly identifying the new knowledge that it will help to generate alongwith a summary of work already carried out by the applicant in the area. Short-listed candidates shall be invited for an interactive discussion with the Management Committee constituted by the Ministry under the ‘National Environmental Sciences Fellows Programme’.
The application complete in all respects should be sent by Registered /Speed Post in a confidential sealed envelope by 15th September, 2010 to the address given below. Applications may also be sent by e-mail at the id sv.godavarthi@nic.in
