The objective of IBSD is to develop and utilize the rich bioresources of the Northeastern Region of the country through the application of modern tools of biology and biotechnology. The institute invites application for :
Ph.D Programme - JRF Positions
Broad area of research at the Institute is Plant Bioresources and Microbial Bioresources Selected candidates shall be eligible for the monthly stipend and annual contingency grant which will be higher than that of normal fellowship programmes.
Eligibility and other details :
Candidates shall be eligible to apply for pursuing research in an ongoing programme of IBSD, leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), if he/she has obtained 55% of marks in aggregate (B or B+ only in the 10 point scale) in the Master's Degree Examination.
A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% of marks in aggregate in Master Degree examination shall be eligible to apply.
Admission to the Ph.D programme shall be done in the month of December, 2011.
The programme will start on 1st week of January.
Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC Net/DBT-JRF/ICMR - JRF/ICAR - JRF examination are eligible for direct interview.

National Centre for Cell Science Ph.D Programs
The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), An autonomous institution of the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India invites applications from candidates who are bonafide Indian citizens and having consistently good academic record. Candidates should have strong motivation to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph.D degree. The broader areas of research and the available projects with NCCS faculty could be found at their respective web pages. The list of available projects for the current session will be provided to the candidates at the time of interview.
National Centre for Cell Science is recognised by University of Pune, Pune, Devi Ahilya VishwaVidyalaya, Indore, Punjab University, Chandigarh and Manipal Academy of higher Education, Manipal as a center for higher learning and for the award of Ph. D. degree. NCCS recruits candidates with ICMR, CSIR and UGC Junior Research Fellowships for pursuing their Ph.D.
Eligibility Criteria
Should have an M.Sc. degree in any area of Life Sciences
Qualified in the CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT examination for Junior Research Fellowship and Fellowship should be valid as on the date of joining. (Candidates in the "Projects list of ICMR and category 'B' of DBT examination" need not apply).
Reservation will be as per the Government of India guidelines.
Terms and conditions of the fellowship will be as directed by the agency awarding the fellowship.
Age relaxation will be 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PH and 3 years in case of OBC candidates.

Candidates who satisfy the above criteria may submit their typed applications in the prescribed format* to the Co-ordinator, Academic Cell, National Centre for Cell Science, Pune University Campus, Ganeshkhind, Pune 411 007 on or before 30th Sept. 2010. Please superscribe "Application for the Ph.D programme-2010(02)" on the application form as well as on the envelope. Do not attach any certificates (original or Xerox) along with the application, however these must be produced at the time of interview failing which, they will not be interviewed. SC/ST/OBC candidates should attach attested true copy of Caste Certificate/Latest non-creamy layer certificate along with the application & originals should be produced at the time of Interview.
