USIEF TEA Programme 2011
USIEF is announce the the 2011 Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) programme for secondary level school teachers, teaching English, social studies, Mathematics and science at schools in the states of Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and all union territories in western India.
Please note that this competition is open only to teachers from the states mentioned and not the rest of India. In addition to teachers from India, this US government sponsored programme will bring together teachers from Europe and Eurasia, East Asia and the Pacific, the Far East, South and Central Asia, Sub - Saharan Africa, and the Western Hemisphere to the United States for a six week professional development programme in spring or fall 2012 that will further develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills and increase their knowledge about the United States.
The TEA fellowship is fully funded and provides:
* J-1 visa support;
* A pre-departure orientation held in participant’s home country;
* Round-trip airfare from your home city to and within the U.S. (for participation in the program);
* A Welcome Orientation in Washington, D.C.;
* Academic program fees;
* Housing (generally shared with other program fellows) and meals;
* Accident and sickness medical insurance coverage;
* Transportation to the internship school (if necessary);
* A daily allowance for meals and incidentals during the academic program;
* A book/professional development allowance;
* A baggage allowance for fees incurred during program travel;
* A Closing Workshop in Washington, D.C.; and
* The opportunity to apply for follow-on grants.
