Department of Biotechnology India Rapid Grant For Young Investigator- RGYI 2012
Rapid Grant for Young Investigators fosters creative research in various fields of biotechnology (Medical, Agriculture, Animal Biotech, Environment and Industry etc) to enhance early career development of young investigators below 40 years of age. The programme aims to provide first grant to establish the lab and initiate research in the frontier areas of biotechnology.
Grant applications are invited for innovative research projects from PI/teams of young PI's with interdisciplinary multi-institutional collaboration;holding independent position (and within 10 years of receiving a PhD) and with potential for independent research.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a promising track record of early achievements appropriate to their research field and career stage, including significant publications (as main author) in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. They may also refer to monographs or demonstrate a record of invited presentations in well-established international conferences, granted patents, awards, prizes etc. Each application should include Post-Doctoral students as additional Co-PI's together with young faculty/scientists holding permanent positions.
Interested investigators are required to submit 10 copies of the project proposal to Dr. T.S. Rao, Advisor, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology Block 2 (6th - 8th Floor) CGO Complex, LodiRoad New Delhi - 110 003 and soft copy of the same at rgyi.dbt@gmail.com Investigators submitting the projects should clearly specify "Application for RGYI" on the envelope. The format for submitting Proposal and guidelines for RGYI (same as for routine competitive grant R&D projects) may be seen at website - www.dbtindia.nic.in.
