IGNOU Telecentre/ Village Knowledge Centre Management 2012

IGNOU announces the admission Certificate in Telecentre/ Village Knowledge Centre Management (CTVM) Fo January 2012 session

The programme is aimed at building the capacity of managers of over 1,00,000 telecentres and village knowledge centres, that will be in operation soon throughout the nation.

The Programme helps to develop professionalism among the telecentre managers and support their day-to-day functional needs in their professional life. The programme contains modules on (a) telecentre management (b) entrepreneurship (c) community development (d) grassroots marketing and (e) infomediary skills.

The programme has a special emphasis on community development and the provision of information services to members of the rural community in each of the 6,00,000 villages in India. The programme aims to help the managers of telecentres to fulfill the needs of the rural society, especially those who are living below the poverty line.

Also, as a programme linked to employability, it will help rural youth to find employment as village knowledge centre managers under the Common Service Centres programme of the Department of IT.

Duration of the course: Min 6 Months to max 2 Years

Eligibility: Those who have completed 10 + 2 class or Managers of telecentres run by organisations across the nation and the potential village level entrepreneurs

Course Fee: Rs. 4,000 (Four Thousand only)

Medium of Instruction: English, Hindi, Tamil, Oriya

Job Prospects: Common Services Centres of Government of India, Village Knowledge Centres, Village Resource Centres, NASSCOM Knowledge Network Centres, e-Choupals, KVKs, Drishtee, TARAhaat, etc.

The prospectus and application form for January 2012 session is available at all the regional centers of the university as well as at the head quarters. It is also available on the University’s website www.ignou.ac.in. Downloaded admission application form, duly completed/filled in, can be submitted along with an amount of Rs. 100/- in addition to the programme fee in the form of a Demand Draft/Cash Order in favour of “IGNOU” payable at the Regional Centre.

The last date to apply for admission is 30th November 2011 without late fee and 15th December 2011 with late fee of Rs. 200/-.
