South Asian University Admissions 2012
In order to promote regional cooperation and inculcation of regional consciousness amongst students of South Asia, a South Asian University (SAU) was established in July 2010 jointly by the eight SAARC Member states. The University is currently located in Akbar Bhawan, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, but its own campus will come up in a few years on an 100-acre plot of land in South Delhi. Through a SAARC inter-Governmental agreement, degrees offered by SAU are recognized in all SAARC countries.
The third academic session of the university will begin in July 2012 for which a SAARC wide entrance test will be held on 27th May, 2012 at various locations in all SAARC countries. Admissions are being offered in following academic Programmes each of two years duration :
MA (Development Economics)
MSC (Computer Sci)
MSC (Biotechnology)
MA (Sociology)
MA (Intl Relations)
LLM (Masters of Law)
MSC (Applied Maths)
Application forms may be downloaded from the university website and submit with an application fee of US$10 (Indian Rupees 500/-) Details of the admission process, university facilities and teaching faculty, are available on www.sau.ac.in
Special category of multiple entry SAU Visa for all students from outside India Quotas for students from SAARC countries, Hostels for all students from outside Delhi, liberal availability of scholarships to meritorious and needy students, Internationally recruited faculty, well-equipped biotechnology training laboratory, Medical facilities and rapidly expanding library facilities etc.
