NBE Foreign Medical Graduate Examination 2013
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has invited applications from all foreign degree holding Indian doctors who want to practise in India, for appearing in the Screening Test 2013 conducted by the Medical Council of India. The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) will be held in late September and would be conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
According to the regulations set by the Screening Test 2002, all Indian students possessing degrees from universities and institutions outside India must clear the Screening Test to attain permanent registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI). The permanent registration is mandatory to be able to practise medicine in India.
Eligibility :
* The applicant must be a citizen of India or an overseas citizen of India
* The basic medical qualification of the applicant must have been confirmed by the MCI. This qualification should also be recognised for medical practice in the country where the institute awarding the qualification is situated.
* The applicant should have completed the entire medical course from the same institute abroad.
* Applicants who took admission in a medical programme abroad after 15 March, 2002, should have obtained an "eligibility certificate" from the MCI. (This is not applicable for candidates who went abroad to study medicine before 15March, 2002.)
* Applicants who went abroad before 15 Mar 2002 need not meet the minimum admission norms of the MCI to appear for FMGE 2013.
* Applicants should be obtain their Primary Medical Qualification before the FMGE exam i.e. before 29 September, 2013.
Candidates who got their undergraduate medical degree from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the United States of America and has also been awarded a post graduate medical degree from any of these six countries and is eligible to practice medicine in these countries, need not qualify the FMGE to obtain a permanent registration in India
Applications can be downloaded from the official website www.natboard.edu.in upon paying the specified amount via credit or debit card
The application forms can also be collected from selective branches of Indian Bank by a payment of Rs. 750 cash from 3 June, 2013 onwards
Duly filled in application forms must be submitted to the NBE by 30 June, 2013 to avoid late fees
The last date for submission of late applications with late fees is 7 July, 2013
