National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) invites applications for National Talent Search Examination.
For the selection year 2009, the NCERT will conduct the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class VIII only.
Eligibility
Students of Class VIII studying in recognised schools are eligible to appear for the respective Class VIII Stage I examination conducted by the States/ UTs in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.
Examination
The pattern of written examination for Class VIII will be as follows:
Stage I examination at the State/ UT level will comprise two parts, namely (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics.
Stage II examination at the National level will comprise (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics, (c) Interview. Only those candidates who qualify the written examination at the National Level will be invited for interview.
State quotas
Each State/ Union Territory has been allotted a quota to recommend a specific number of candidates for the Stage II examination, the details of which will be made available on NCERT website. However, there will be no State/ Union Territory Quota for the final award of scholarship after the Stage II examination. Reservation for SC, ST and Physically challenged will be as notified in para 2 above.
Application forms
Application forms can be downloaded from NCERT Web site. All correspondence relating to Application Forms should be addressed to the State Liaison Officers (LOs) whose addresses are given at the Website.
The completed application form duly signed by the Principal of the school should be submitted to the LO before the last date.

The Institute invites applications for MBA (IB) Degree programme being offered at Delhi & Kolkata campuses for the academic session 2009 - 2011.

UPSC Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination 2008
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2008 commencing from November 22, 2008 for recruitment to Grade IV of the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.
Salient features of the examination are published below for general information of candidates. For details regarding Eligibility Conditions, the Syllabus and Scheme of the examination, Centres of examination, Guidelines for filling up application form etc aspirants must consult the Detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar dated June 21, 2008.
Conditions of Eligibility
Age Limit
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on January 1, 2008.
The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/ Schedule Tribes/ Other Backward Classes/ Physically Handicapped and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
Educational Qualifications
A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics/ Econometrics and a candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a recognised University.
Application Form
The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice published in the Employment News dated 21.6.2008) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20/-. Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.
In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/Pos, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC's "Forms Supply Monitoring Cell" over Telephone: 011-23389366 / Fax: 011-23387310.
Examination Fees
Rs 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) to be paid through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from payment of Fees. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees).

All applications must reach the "Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110 069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the July 21, 2008.

Maharashtra Unaided Colleges M.Pharm. ASSO-CET 2008
In pursuance of the directions issued by Hon’ble Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai, Association of Unaided Private Pharmacy Colleges is authorized to conduct centralized admission process for admission to first year M. Pharm. (2008-2009) in Unaided Colleges / Institutes who have given the consent to participate in the Common Entrance Test, M.Pharm. ASSO-CET and Centralized Admission Process, M.Pharm. ASSO-CAP in the state of Maharashtra.
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for Common Entrance Test M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008 and for Centralised Admission Process M.Pharm. ASSO-CAP for admission to first year of two years Post Graduate course in pharmacy in unaided colleges / Institutes in state of Maharashtra.
Availability of information brochure and submission of application forms –

Eligibility Criteria
a) For appearing for M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008
* The candidate who does not have valid GATE score or did not appear in GATE shall have to secure non zero score in M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008 to be eligible for claiming admission, subject to the condition that no GATE qualified candidate is available in respective category.
* Candidate who has passed B.Pharm. degree or appeared in final year / final semester of B.Pharm from any AICTE approved institution affiliated with University (approved by UGC) subject to the condition that they must produce proof of passing B.Pharm. examination as per M.Pharm. admission eligibility criterion in original at the time of admission by counseling round.
* Note : The M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008 examination will have the same curriculum, pattern similar to GATE 2008. However there will be no negative marking system in M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008.
b) For Admission to M.Pharm.:
The candidate who has passed B.Pharm. from any AICTE approved institution attached with university (approved by UGC) and obtained the required percentage of marks to be eligible for admission to M.Pharm. in respective University in which he / she wishes to take the admission.
Types of Seats :
a) Non-sponsored seats : Candidates who are eligible as per rule no. 1.6(b) and not sponsored by any organization will be considered for these seats. These candidates are eligible to receive stipend/ scholarship, subject to availability of financial assistance from AICTE and fulfillment of conditions laid down by AICTE from time to time.
b) Sponsored seats : Candidates who are eligible as per rule no. 1.6 (b) and are sponsored by any organization such as manufacturing, research and development, quality control, quality assurance, documentation, regulatory division or teacher teaching in diploma / degree in pharmacy institutions sponsored by employer or registered qualified person (working with retail or whole sale pharmacy / Hospital Pharmacy and whose name is approved by Food and Drug Administration) Sponsored by employer, after completion of B. Pharm. Degree and as a full time employee.
c) Seats for SC/ST category candidates : The admissions to this category are available to the SC and ST category candidates who are eligible as per rule no. 1.6 (b) belonging to the state of Maharashtra only. The reservation policy is subjected to the rules and regulations laid down by the Government of Maharashtra from time to time.
d) Foreign Nationals / Foreign students / Persons of Indian origin / Children of NRI/ Children of Indian workers in gulf countries : These admissions will be done at the institute level from the candidates who are eligible as per rule no. 1.6 (b) as per merit subjected to the permission from AICTE and Govt. of Maharashtra
M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008 : M.Pharm. Common Entrance Test
Candidates who have neither valid GATE score nor appeared in GATE shall have to secure non zero score in M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008 conducted by competent authority to be eligible for claiming admission subject to the condition that no GATE qualified candidate is available. The candidates having valid GATE score need not to appear for M.Pharm. ASSO-CET-2008 because at the time of admission they will be given preference over the candidates who have non zero CET score in respective category. The information about M.Pharm. Orissa Joint Entrance Examination 2008
MBA, MCA , Engineering/Technology, Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology (HMCT), MBBS/BDS and Pharmacy
Eligiblity
For admission to First Year Bachelor programme in
1 Engineering/Technology : Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one from Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in engineering including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.
2 Architecture: For admission to Architecture candidates are to secure minimum 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 Examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent, with Mathematics as one of the subject OR 10+3 years diploma with 50 % marks in aggregate OR International baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with mathematics as compulsory subject of examination. All the candidates seeking admission to B.Arch course shall have valid NATA score prescribed by Council of Architecture(minimum 80 out of 200)
3 Pharmacy : Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry and one from Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science /Biology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in Pharmacy including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.
4 Hotel Management and Catering Technology: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination in Arts/ Commerce/ Science from CHSE, Orissa or equivalent.
5 MBBS/BDS : Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% marks in aggregate in these subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST) with age between 17 and 25 years as on 31.12.2008 (relaxable up to 3 years for SC/ST candidates).
For admission to First Year Masters programme in
1 Computer Application (MCA): Pass or appearing in 2008 three years Bachelor’s Degree examination in any discipline with pass in Mathematics at 10+2 level or in +3 level.
2 Business Administration (MBA): Pass or appearing in 2008 three years Bachelor’s Degree examination in any discipline from a UGC recognized University.
For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy and HMCT under Lateral Entry
Pass or appearing in 3 years diploma course in Engineering, Pharmacy, and HMCT with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&VT, Orissa or equivalent.
For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology under Lateral Entry
Pass or appearing in 2008, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate(First Division) with Mathematics at +3 level.
For admission to Second Year Pharmacy under Lateral Entry

Eligiblity
For admission to First Year Bachelor programme in
1 Engineering/Technology : Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one from Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in engineering including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.
2 Architecture: For admission to Architecture candidates are to secure minimum 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 Examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent, with Mathematics as one of the subject OR 10+3 years diploma with 50 % marks in aggregate OR International baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with mathematics as compulsory subject of examination. All the candidates seeking admission to B.Arch course shall have valid NATA score prescribed by Council of Architecture(minimum 80 out of 200)
3 Pharmacy : Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry and one from Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science /Biology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in Pharmacy including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.
4 Hotel Management and Catering Technology: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination in Arts/ Commerce/ Science from CHSE, Orissa or equivalent.
5 MBBS/BDS : Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% marks in aggregate in these subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST) with age between 17 and 25 years as on 31.12.2008 (relaxable up to 3 years for SC/ST candidates).

1 Computer Application (MCA): Pass or appearing in 2008 three years Bachelor’s Degree examination in any discipline with pass in Mathematics at 10+2 level or in +3 level.
