Amrita School of Business MBA Admissions 2009

Eligibility for MBA
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Programme is a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary/Pre-degree examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before 30th June 2009. Such candidates will however have to fulfill the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by 31st October 2009. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they are required to produce a letter from their college Principal/Head of Institution stating the examination dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will have an added advantage for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.

Admission Test
All candidates seeking admission to Amrita’s MBA Programme at Bangalore and Coimbatore should have appeared for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in November 2008.
For admissions at Amritapuri and Kochi Campuses, test scores of Management Aptitude Test (MAT – February 2008 onwards) conducted by the All India Management Association, as well as CAT test scores of IIMs would be accepted.
NRIs and Foreign Nationals are required to take the GMAT test.

The closing date for receiving filled up application forms:28th February, 2009

Selection
Candidates who are short-listed based on their CAT/MAT scores will be called for a personal interview at the various selection centers specified in the application form. Interviews are likely to be held in the third week of March and results would be posted on the website towards the end of March.
The selected students should be ready to pay the first installment of fees within fifteen days from the date of intimation of their final selection.
As far as the GMAT route is concerned, a maximum of 15% NRI and/or foreign candidates may be admitted through GMAT in each campus. A minimum GMAT score of 550 is necessary for consideration for interview. Such candidates should apply directly to ASB along with their valid GMAT scores.
Batch Size
The number of seats available for the fully residential 2-year MBA Programme starting on June 2009 is as follows:
Amritapuri 60 seats
Kochi 60 seats
Bangalore 60 seats
Coimbatore 120 seats

Orientation Programme
In mid-June 2009, the School organizes a two-week orientation programme for the incoming new batch. This programme of preparatory studies is necessary before students can begin their regular semester studies. Participation is compulsory for all students. The exact dates will be intimated to the selected students at the appropriate time.

Purchase of Application Form
ASB Prospectus and Application Form can be obtained directly from the admissions offices at Amritapuri, Bangalore, Coimbatore and Kochi campuses. The forms are also available at IMS, TIME and select offices of AXIS Bank all over India. The application form can also be downloaded by logging on to our website: www.amrita.edu/asb.
Payment for the application form must be through a DD for Rs. 1000/= drawn in favour of Amrita School of Business, payable at Coimbatore.
