IIM-A MBA wants brilliant academic record + CAT Score
If you are willing to pursue your Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) this year, then you need have a brilliant academic record in the secondary and higher secondary examination as well.
What has left aspirants surprised is that the selection process at IIM-A this year is taking into account the candidate's academic record in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations as well.
As a result, although the overall percentile at which IIM-A selects aspirants, has come down to 98 from last year's 98.3 for those who have brilliant academic records, aspirants who scored higher in CAT but did not have excellent scores in their board exams did not get a call from the IIMs.

this selection criteria is completely absurd since there is a lot of ambiguity in the secondary state board .different state boards have their own marking scheme which varies absolutely in India like in the south i.e tamil or Andra board scoring 97% + is not an onerous job, it is equivalent of getting 80-85% marks in CBSE boards on the other hand getting 60% + marks in Rajasthan board in considered a milestone.
So it will surely make a lot of difference to Cat aspirant irrespective of their capability the percentage that is going to count in their final score from the boards may proved fatal to one refraining his/her admission into IIM.
consider two candidate with same cat percentile one with 97 % in tamil n other with 70% in rajasthan board .Although they are equivalent personal but this % difference will blow the latter .
With what thinking and basis the highest mind on this earth have taken this decision of including intermediate % in final selection procedure.....
it is COMPLETELY absurd as the bord percentages do not really determine an individual is really talented or not.lots of students are getting discourged because of this..
