K.R.Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science & Arts Admissions 2014

K.R.Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science & Arts is an innovative venture in professional film / audio-visual training and a research centre of international standards established by the Government of Kerala at Thekkumthala in Kottayam District of Kerala.

The Institute announces admissions to the first batch of programmes – 2014. Applications are invited for admission to the Three Year Full-Time Diploma Programmes in:

* Script Writing and Direction
* Editing
* Cinematography
* Audiography
* Animation and Visual Effects
* Acting

The candidates should have passed the Plus Two course (Higher Secondary) or equivalent. Those who have appeared for the final examination of the Plus Two course and awaiting results can also apply subject to production of the certificate or mark sheet of the qualifying examination at the time of admission. The upper age limit is 40 years as on 1st June, 2014.

The eligible candidates have to undergo a two stage screening- a preliminary Entrance Examination conducted at all India level followed by an Orientation Programme-cum-Interview for the shortlisted candidates.

The entrance examination Centres will be at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata and New Delhi.

The entrance examinations will be conducted at the selected venues on 4th May, 2014.

Eligibility-: For Direction & Screenplay, Editing, Cinematography: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent

For Audiography-: Graduate from a recognized university or equivalent, preferably with Physics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary Level (10+2)

Whistling Woods International Admissions 2009

The Whistling Woods International full-time courses are intensive, two-year programmes based around theory, practical exercises, filmmaking and industry experience. Designed with the expert guidance of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, the courses offer students a modern, thorough and balanced curriculum and an educated entryway into the entertainment industry. With a well-rounded Foundation Programme and concentrated Specialisation disciplines, Whistling Woods International provides world-class training in all aspects of filmmaking and television production - the aesthetic, the technical and the professional.

The courses are structured into four semesters. The first semester, an exhaustive five-month programme, introduces students to each element of filmmaking through an integrated approach which fuses theoretical concepts with direct production results. On completion of this Foundation Course, students progress to their specialisations and spend the next three semesters mastering their chosen craft through a series of increasingly sophisticated and ambitious film projects. These two years provide approximately 3800 hours of comprehensive training and hands-on filmmaking experience. A new student intake will be admitted for all courses in January and July of each year.
