All India Entrance Examination for Agriculture Courses (AIEEA 2008) ICAR

Indian Council for Agricultural Research invites applications for The 13th All India Entrance Examination in Agriculture (AIEEA 2008) for admissions to Under-Graduate Programmes in Agriculture and allied Sciences other than Veterinary Science and for the award of National Talent Scholarships for the Academic Session 2008- 2009, The AIEEA Score is for admissions to 15% of the seats in 39 State Agricultural Universities, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), National Dairy Research Institute (all seats) and Central Universities having Agriculture faculty namely BHU, Viswa Bharti and Nagaland University for U.G. Degree (B.Sc./B.Tech./B.F.Sc. etc.) in the subjects of Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Forestry, Food Science, Fisheries Sciences, Home Science, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing Banking & Co-operation and Commercial Agriculture & Business Management.

Examination date: 19.04.2008 (Saturday) 10.00 – 12.30 hours at 39 Centres).

Last date: 10.03.2008.

Eligibility: The applicant must have passed and obtained not less than 50% marks (for admission under General/UPS/OBC) or 40% marks (SC/ST/PH) in PCM/ PCA/ PCB/ PCH/ PCMB subject combinations in the 10+2 examination. Any candidate having compartment/supplementary in any subject in 10+2 examination is not eligible for admission.

Candidates appearing for 10+2 examination can also apply but they have to produce 10+2 pass certificate during counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities. National Talent Scholarship (NTS) of Rs. 1,000/- per month for U.G. would be awarded to all selected in this examination that join any University in ICAR-SAU system, located outside their state of domicile.

Age: 17-23 years as on December 31, 2008

Reservation: As per norms, 15% seats in all subjects will be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 3% for Physically Handicapped (PH), and 2% for candidates from Underprivileged States (UPS).

Reservation for OBC if applicable in four Central Universities (NDRI, CAU, BHU and Viswa Bharti) will be as per Government of India directives/ University rules.

The DD must be drawn in favour of DDG (Education), ICAR and payable at New Delhi. The candidate should write his/ her name and address on the back of the DD.
Filled Forms: The last date for the receipt of filled Application Forms in the Office of the Controller of Exams, Education Division, ICAR, KAB-II, Pusa, and New Delhi–110012 is 10.3.2008 (Monday). However for candidates from remote areas viz. Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul and Spilit District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, A&N Islands and Lakshadweep, the last date for receipt of filled Application Form is 17.3.2008 (Monday).

Application: Information Bulletin with Application forms can be purchased till 7.3.2008 (Friday) against cash payment of Rs. 400/- + Rs. 25/- (handling charges) for General, OBC and UPS categories and Rs. 200/- + Rs. 25/- (handling charges) for S.C/S.T/P.H categories from the Offices of the Registrars of the following Agricultural Universities.

Application Forms cannot be submitted on-line.
