AIPMT 2012 Application Process

All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2012

AIPMT entrance examination is being conducted exclusively for the 15% merit positions for the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of the court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time. The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing merit list to the DGHS as per their instructions. The counselling for successful candidates is conducted by the DGHS. During counselling, the eligibility criteria, various documents, etc. of the candidate is verified and Medical/Dental College is allotted to the candidate according to the choice.

The entrance examination consists of:

Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

Final Examination: (Only for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination). The Final Examination would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

BARC invites applications for its Ph.D. programme in Science Disciplines commencing in August 2012 under the aegis of HBNI . A limited number of Junior Research Fellowships JRFs awarded by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), will be offered to those selected for the Ph.D. program. DAE fellowship is tenable for four years. The fellowship amount is Rs.16000/- per month for first and second year, and Rs.18,000/- per month for subsequent years besides house rent allowance and medical benefits as per rules. The selection process for the Ph.D. program of BARC is identical with that of the OCE DGFS program of the BARC Training Schools.

The selected candidates can also pursue the Ph.D. program with fellowships from other sources like UGC-CSRl, DBT, ICAR, ICMR and other national agencies. A few meritorious candidates may be offered DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme-Ph.D. (DGFS – Ph.D.)

Eligibility :
Those having M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry / Biology or related science subjects with minimum 60% marks in MSc as well as in BSc are eligible to apply.

Applicants for Physics discipline should have Physics and Mathematics up to BSc or at subsidiary and/ or ancillary level in case of five years integrated MSc.

Applicants for Chemistry discipline should have Mathematics up to Xll std and Physics up to BSc or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of five years integrated MSc.

Applicants in Physics and Chemistry opting to be considered on the basis of GATE Score should have a valid GATE Score in Physics and Chemistry respectively.

For Biology and related disciplines MSc in Agriculture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Botany, Zoo logy, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Food Technology, Animal Science, Life Sciences and Biosciences.

MSc applicants in Life Sciences should have Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry up to BSc or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of five year integrate MSc with minimum 60% aggregate marks in MSc as well as in BSc.

Applicants in Life Sciences opting to be considered on the basis of GATE Score should have valid GATE Score in Life Sciences or Biotechnology. Those having MSc with specialization in subjects like Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry, Agronomy, Animal husbandry, Marine Biology and Home Science etc and BE / BTech/ MTech in Biotechnology / Genetic Engineering are not eligible.

Those whose final results of qualifying degree are awaited can also apply. In the event of selection, mark sheet of final result confirming eligibility as above, should be submitted by Nov 30, 2012.

Age limit: The candidates desirous of availing DAE Junior Research Fellowships should have been born on or after August 1, 1986. Age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants. Physically challenged persons are eligible for an age relaxation of 10 years over and above their respective category.

AICTE is conducting the first National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) – 2012 for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE for the year 2012-13.

Eligibility :
Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT.

Management (PGDM, MBA and similar): Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying
Examination

Management (PGCM): Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration

Management (Executive PGDM): Any recognized Bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration and a minimum of 5 years relevant managerial / supervisory experience.

To Apply :
Registering for CMAT is a 4 Step process as mentioned below:
Step 1) First time you will enter as NEW USER. Here you will read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and proceed

Step 2) Self registration: Here you need to enter few basic details. Submitting this page will generate a unique 8 digit password. This password will be shown on your screen and will be sent to you via e-mail and sms. From now onwards, whenever you wish to login to the registration portal, you will come as an EXISTING USER and login with your e-mail id and this unique 8 digit password. This completes your self registration.

Mode i) ONLINE PAYMENT: You can select ONLINE PAYMENT mode and then do the payment using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking

Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and sms. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration process

Mode ii) CASH Payment in bank: You can select this option to pay by CASH at any of the designated SBI bank branch. Once you select this option and proceed, you will see a CHALLAN on your screen with your details already filled in it. You need to take a PRINT OUT of this CHALLAN, fill in the details wherever required in all three copies, walk in to your nearest SBI bank branch and deposit the CASH.

After that complete the application form and submit the form. Please login from 30th Jan 2012 onwards to download your exam ADMIT CARD.

IGNOU School of Health Sciences (SOHS) invites applications for three post graduate medical programmes for July 2012 session

IGNOU PG Medical Programmes-:
PG Certificate in Oral Implantology (PGCOI)
PG Certificate in Endodontics (PGCE)
PG Diploma in Clinical Cardiology (PGDCC).

IGNOU in collaboration with the Dental Council of India (DCI) has developed the two post graduate certificate programmes for BDS graduates. These programmes are essentially a judicious mix of theoretical and practical courses. They enhance the knowledge and skills in the field of Oral Implantology and Endodontics respectively. The programmes are approved by DCI and are of minimum one year and maximum three years duration. The practical skills are imparted through selected DCI recognized dental colleges all over the country.

The PGDCC programme is a non-invasive clinical cardiology programme implemented in collaboration with the top cardiac institutes of the country. More than 60 cardiac institutes across the country have been designated as training centers of this programme. Candidates with MBBS degree, recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) are eligible to apply for the same. The minimum duration of the programme is two years while the maximum is four years.

The candidates shall be selected on the basis of the entrance test and weightage as applicable and reservation policy of Government of India norms. IGNOU invites applications for its management programmes for July 2012 session through an entrance test called the OPENMAT- XXXI to be held on February 12, 2012 all over the country.

There are seven degree/ diploma programmes for which the application is invited viz., Master of Business Administration (MBA), Diploma in Management (DIM), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM), Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM), Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM), Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM).

Eligibility :
These programmes have multimedia design and technology aided delivery systems. Candidates with 50 percent marks in graduation for general category and 45% for reserved category are eligible to apply for admission. However, candidates with bachelor’s degree and three years of supervisory/ managerial/ professional experience or professional degree or masters degree in any subject are also eligible to apply.

Candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into management programme conducted by institutions like CAT, MAT and state level tests need not appear in the OPENMAT. The cut off percentage for admission of these candidates will be decided by the university.

Non-graduates (10+2 or equivalent) with six years of managerial/ supervisory/ professional experience are eligible for taking admission into Diploma in Management only after clearing the entrance test.

Admission Process :
Candidates who qualify the entrance test can submit the registration form, available in the student handbook and prospectus along with the hall ticket of the entrance test to the respective regional centers along with the required fee on any day after the receipt of the result card.

In addition to CAT, the candidate should also fill-up a separate form for admission to PGDFM, which is available from IIFM Bhopal. The cost of IIFM application form is Rs. 900/- (450/- for SC/ ST) payable at Bhopal. This can be obtained either personally or by post. The application form can also be downloaded from our website and in that case, the completed application form should accompany the Demand Draft of the specified amount drawn in favour of “Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management” payable at Bhopal.

The programme is aimed at building the capacity of managers of over 1,00,000 telecentres and village knowledge centres, that will be in operation soon throughout the nation.

The objective of IBSD is to develop and utilize the rich bioresources of the Northeastern Region of the country through the application of modern tools of biology and biotechnology. The institute invites application for :

Ph.D Programme - JRF Positions
Broad area of research at the Institute is Plant Bioresources and Microbial Bioresources Selected candidates shall be eligible for the monthly stipend and annual contingency grant which will be higher than that of normal fellowship programmes.

Eligibility and other details :

Candidates shall be eligible to apply for pursuing research in an ongoing programme of IBSD, leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), if he/she has obtained 55% of marks in aggregate (B or B+ only in the 10 point scale) in the Master's Degree Examination.

A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% of marks in aggregate in Master Degree examination shall be eligible to apply.

Admission to the Ph.D programme shall be done in the month of December, 2011.

The programme will start on 1st week of January.

Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC Net/DBT-JRF/ICMR - JRF/ICAR - JRF examination are eligible for direct interview.

IIST ISAT 2012 Online Application Process for undergraduates programmes in IIST

IIST now invites applications for admissions to its B.Tech programmes in Aerospace Engineering Avionics and Physical Sciences for the academic year 2012 - 13. Admissions to the B.Tech programme will be through the IIST admission Test (ISAT - 2012) to be held on Saturday 21st April, 2012 in Twenty two cities across the country. Candidates for ISAT - 2012 have to register online at the IIST website www.iist.ac.in/isat 2012 and follow the instructions below :-

Examination fee - Candidates residing in India - The exam fee for candidates in Gen and OBC categories is Rs.600/- and fee for SC,ST,PD and female candidates in all categories is Rs.300/- The exam fee is non-refundable. The fee has to be remitted in any one of the branches of State Bank of India (SBI) Punjab National Bank (PNB) or Union Bank of India (UBI) by using the challan (in triplicate) which can be downloaded/printed on successful completion of on-line registration. Fee remitted in any other form will not be accepted.

NRI Candidates - NRI candidates can remit their examination fee through any bank outside India. The fee must be sent in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, IIST payable at Thiruvananthapuram Demand draft issued from Bank within India Not be Accepted.

Gen - General category other backward Classes, SC - Scheduled classes, ST -Scheduled Tribe PD - Physically Disabled

Eligibility :
Minimum qualification for admission to the two years full-time post-graduate management programs - PGDM at the Institute is three / four years bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in any discipline recognized by Association of Indian Universities. However preference will be given to Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Management and Computer Science graduates and candidates with relevant work experience.

Candidates appearing for final year or final semester of their graduate degree examination in academic year 2011-12 are also eligible to appear for the admission process. Such candidates, if called for interview, should submit the copy of admit card or a letter from the principal of the college where they are studying to that effect. Such candidates if finally selected at XISS, Ranchi must clear their Graduation examination with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST) by August 2012.

A candidate desirous of seeking admission in the Institute will have to appear in an all India level management admission test organized by XLRI Jamshedpur (XAT 2012 on January 8th 2012. For admission to batches 2012-14, scores of only XAT 2012 will be accepted. Candidates will have to apply online for appearing in XAT 2012 by visiting www.xatonline.net.in and will have to select XISS as affiliated institute.

Based on XAT 2012 scores, candidates who have applied for admission at the institute will be shortlisted and will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be held at the institute premises in the month of April 2011.
